I've been doing some research on English and French-language Arab blogs for the Global Voices project, and everyones been buzzing about the Arablogger contest, the first annual contest for the Best Arab Blogs by language and topic.
Yesterday, the awards were given.

It was started, as far as I can tell, by the Bahraini Blogger Mahmood, of Mahmood's Den, and there's an amazing array of blog talent and opinions, well worth reading.

I'm working on a piece for Personal Democracy on the use of the internet as a database of places and events, laying the groundwork for a new kind of civic voluntary association. Theda Skocpol's work is something of a jumping off point -- I recommend reading this (a good online overview) and suggestions it spurs.

My goal in life...

My main target on this moment of my life is to find the right man and to great family with him! I think that time is came up to it already! And now I do all to find so man!
I do not have some special request to such man! He have to be my best friend first of all, he have to love, to understand and to support me in everything! I’m not small girl im 18 to 23 and can do something by myself, but any way for me always be interesting his opinion about it!
I can mistake and he can! Because of it he have to have great skill of understanding!
In the same time we have to have full trust in everything and do not have any doubts in each others! If find so man, then I can do very much for him! I can relocate, leave my friends and family in live with him as long as we can, I hope forever!
My family is important for me and I do not want to loose all contacts to it! I think it will be not hard to do!
I have no any ideals and I think it’s good! Any one can change if it really need maybe even I!
It’s also all ok!
